 The first thing you will probably notice when you arrive in Anchorage is the beautiful huge mountains that surround the entire Anchorage bowl and through out most of the state. I personally reside in the Eagle River/Chugiak area which is located about 10 minutes north of Downtown Anchorage. Both Fort Richardson Air Force and Elmendorf Army Base located in between. Its a quick commute to work in Anchorage or to either military Posts via a 6 lane highway that is very well maintained year round. Or a 20 minute drive north to the Wasilla/Palmer area. Eagle River is known as a bedroom community as most people who live here work in Anchorage.  We have a very family friendly small community where eveyone knows everybody.  Great schools, that is typical for the Anchorage and Mat-Su  areas.Sports programs that include swimming, skiing, hockey, football, soccer and much more.  We have the massive Chugach state parks, Churches, a movie theater, bowling alley professional hockey area and just about all the amenities you could hope for.
